‘Lawyers for Animals’ taking Lincolnshire pig farmers to court over cruelty charges.

Lawyers for Animals is bringing a private prosecution against Elsham Linc Limited, a subsidiary of Cranswick Country Foods Plc, over 23 alleged animal welfare offences at North Moor Farm in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. The charges include multiple counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, relating to incidents said to have occurred between 19 February and 7 March 2024. The case will be heard at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
